Dolbeudiau House is situated on the edge of Cors Caron, Tregaron Bog, which is a national nature reserve, with the River Teifi running close by the house. Standing detached and set in a very rural location, this comfortable country house makes an ideal base in paticular for those who enjoy walking, bird-watching or cycling, and fishing in nearby lakes is available at reasonable prices. The property lies just 14miles from the lively university and seaside resort of Aberystwyth, with its cliff railway which runs up Constitution Hill, where there is a picnic area, telescopes and an octagonal camera obscura. The National Library of Wales is well worth a visit, as is the Arts Centre, and there are several interesting museums in the town. Places of interest within easy driving distance include the National Botanic Garden and the North Pembrokeshire coast. The unique Italianate private village of Portmeirion is worth a visit - set on a small rocky peninsula, it is perhaps best known as `The Village' in the 1960s British cult TV series The Prisoner, and was built to enhance rather than blend in with the surroundings. The beautiful Powis Castle has been transformed over the centuries and is now home to the Clive Museum, which forms a lively account of the British in India. The gardens are spectacular - dropping down from the castle in four huge stepped terraces, the design has hardly changed since the 17th century, with a charmingly precise orangery and topiary. Summertime outdoor concerts, frequently with firework finales, take place in the gardens.......
