Situated in the beautiful town of Llangollen with a conservatory which opens out onto a large patio garden overlooking the river.. This property is situated in the beautiful town of Llangollen and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. The cottage is a comfortable retreat in which to relax and unwind as well as providing an ideal base from which to explore the town’s attractions, the local area and the beauty of north Wales. Church Street is one of the oldest streets in Llangollen and until the 19th Century was the main road from London to Holyhead. In 1815 Thomas Telford began his construction of the new A5 taking all the traffic away from Church Street. The street’s name comes from the Church of Saint Collen and the original church was founded by the Saint in the late 16th Century. Collen was an Irish warrior and religious figure who lived for a time as a hermit on Glastonbury Tor. The church has been altered and rebuilt over the years, the amazing carved oak ceiling dates from the 15th Century.This charming property has been sympathetically renovated maintaining original features such as beams and wattle and daub walls wherever possible. It dates back to 1695 and was once one of the Quaker meeting rooms. It is situated on the banks of the River Dee overlooking Castell Dinas Bran and is well equipped with added luxuries such as TVs in all the bedrooms, iPod docking stations/radio and free Wi-Fi. Number 21 is the largest of the cottages. On the ground floor there is an open plan lounge and kitchen which leads through to a conservatory with dining table and sofas. The conservatory opens on to an outdoor dining area in the patio garden. The garden is above the River Dee overlooking Castell Dinas Bran. The main double bedroom has an iron bedstead with the shower room just outside the room on the landing. The back bedroom has a 4ft bed and a single bed with an en-suite shower room. Both bedrooms have wall mounted televisions. Church Street 21 can be booked together with Church Street 9 (CC614028) and Church Street 23 (CC614030) to accommodate up to 11 guests. Church Street 21 and Church Street 23 also have adjoining gates between the gardens..
