What began life as a 19th Century stone barn is now a luxurious ground-floor apartment. The accommodation is spacious and hosts three bedrooms with the capacity to sleep up to six people. There are a number of original features combined with modern comforts. To the rear of the cottage is a large patio, perfect for a spot of outdoor dining or simply admiring the views of the surrounding countryside and the Carneddau Mountain range beyond.
Appearing as a smattering of whitewashed cottages against a dramatic and picturesque backdrop, Rowen is located in North Wales’ Conwy Valley, within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. This hamlet has a particular reputation for peace and tranquillity and is a favourite with walkers and ramblers who pass through to walk the moorland and countryside that surrounds it. The Roman Road, which passes above Rowen, runs close to many sites of historical interest including the Maen-y-Bardd, a megalithic burial chamber that dates back to 3,500BC. There are more standing stones to be found at Bwlch y Ddeufaen, which have been dated back as far as 2,000BC. Nearby Conwy has been designated a World Heritage Site in recognition of its magnificent architecture, imposing castle and near-complete Roman walls. In addition, there is a fishing harbour and one of the best preserved medieval town houses in the country, Plas Mawr. As well as a variety of National Trust properties, there are also stunning beaches where you can enjoy a variety of water sports, the internationally acclaimed Bodnant Gardens, Victorian Llandudno and the village of Betws-y-Coed.
