A detached house, this property offers privacy and seclusion as well as easy access to all the attractions in the area. It has a large garden from which to enjoy an evening drink as the summer sun sets over the mountains and the comfortable farmhouse kitchen will accommodate the full complement of six guests. There is ample off-road parking, although the local shops, pubs and restaurant are a mere 10 minutes walk away.
Porthmadog is a bustling town full of individual shops and places to eat. It has a strong and proud heritage, culture and community with the Welsh language as a key part of its identity. Welsh is commonly spoken here and the inhabitants are particularly warm and friendly. Once great seaport, Porthmadog is rich in maritime history and the home of the Ffestiniog Railway. Trains taken from here and the Welsh Highland Railway will take you on scenic tours of the region where you can appreciate the majesty of the countryside and its purple-tipped mountains. Located on the outskirts of Porthmadog, the beach at Blackrock Sands stretches for miles and is a haven for beach games and resting. T. E Lawrence, the original ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ lived nearby and the poet Shelley is reputed to have regularly visited. Also in the area, you can visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion, used as ‘The Village’ in the 60s cult television show, ‘The Prisoner’.
