We have not had many northerlies this winter but as  is usual when we do get the wind bearing down from the North we get quite dramatic scenes of the waves breaking on the promenade. This weeks storms (March 20th 2007) can be shown to be quite strong in comparison to others as is evidenced by the damage caused to the promenade railings, as seen in the video.
