There is plenty to do both in and around Welshpool. Powis Castle sits just to the edge of the town, offering scenic views and plenty of fascinating history. The ruins of Montgomery Castle are nearby, as well as the remains of an old motte and bailey settlement. As well as castles, you will be sure to find an array of spectacular gardens, including the Dingle Garden which incorporates its own small lake, and the interesting quarry garden at Dingle Nursery.
Welshpool can be easily accessed via railway and car, and accommodation includes self catering accommodation including cottages, farmhouses, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts options, and many caravan parks both in Welshpool and the surrounding area.
