Conwy
is acclaimed for the Castle and the Town Walls, but Conwy has much more
to offer including Plas Mawr, the Elizabethan town house, Aberconwy House
the oldest merchant's town house in Wales, and St Mary's Church that was
once the church of the original Cistercian Abbey. But Conwy also has another
claim to fame, Conwy mussels. For generations family businesses have harvested
the mussels in the Conwy estuary, and they still gather the mussels in the
traditional way. But there is another lesser known by product of the mussel
industry. Pearls. Visit the Mussel Museum on the quayside and learn about
the history of pearl fishing from Roman times; discover whose crown once
housed a Conwy pearl; find out how mussels are harvested today; see the
state-of-the-art mussel purification tanks. Find out how to enjoy this tasty
treat – considered by some to be an aphrodisiac?

I start with a few pictures of Conwy and the Quayside. I then use the Quayside
as the start point for a small walk around the town to visit a few attractions.
