Abergorlech is a village in Carmarthenshire, South Wales. It lies on the banks of the River Cothi on the B4310 road, between Brechfa to the southwest and Llansawel to the northeast.
The village has a pub, a church and a picturesque old stone bridge – the Pont Cothi.
Abergorlech stands on the edge of the Brechfa Forest which has a number of great mountain bike trails. The Gorlech Trail (red route) starts in the Forestry car park close to the village centre and is a beautifully free flowing ride. A second entrance is a mile up the road towards the village of Brechfa, and there are a couple of trails suitable for beginners, but still not for the feint hearted.
The village pub – the Black Lion – welcomes both walkers and mountain bikers and is not afraid of your muddy boots. The stone floor is over 300 years old, and its seen worse!
Telephone the Black Lion Abergorlech on 01558 685271 for good beer and good homemade grub.
