This map shows Pontsticill Reservoir Pontsticill provides excellent sailing and windsurfing at Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club which is open to non-members by arrangement. The dinghy sailing club is based on the east bank of Pontsticill Reservoir. The lake is also popular with the Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association with many species of fish including, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Bream, Tench, Pike, Carp, and Wild Brown Trout. Walkers are well catered for with a variety of trails available in the area. Directions : Head towards Merthyr Tydfil on the A465 (Heads of the Valleys Road) Look out for, and follow, the brown tourist signs indicating the way to the Brecon Mountain Railway. Follow these signs but instead of turning into its car park continue straight on.
