The Marble Church Bodelwyddan is dedicated to St
Margaret. The church is built largely of limestone with a 202 ft high
tower and steeple that can be seen for miles around. Externally there
are many fine carvings including gargoyles and headstops. Stone carvings
include a number of realistic headstops, presumably depicting local
dignitaries, and possibly Lady Willoughby de Broke the benefactor of the
church. This might explain the sad expression on the face of the lady
depicted in the carving.
